“Passage” (In Pre-Production)
A socially withdrawn child bonds with his cousin as they adventure through a wormhole that is more dangerous than it appears…
Passage is a story that I wrote during a time the civil unrest and in justice in my home city of Minneapolis. It is made from the anxiety I felt during this time combined with the isolation I felt during the pandemic.
“Passage” explores the anxious mind of a young Black boy as he struggles to navigate the world around him. When he suddenly acquires a strange way to circumvent his fears, he re-discovers what it means to be brave.
“Confession Tent”
“Confession Tent” was an Art-a-Whirl installation I did as a student. Participants would enter the tent, listen to a secret by recorded by a previous visitor, then share a secret of their own.
Projectors were used to paint the tents with old stock footage of communication personnel, hardware and devices. Cassette recorders were used to share the secrets.
